Morgue: The process to define the shape of self loathing

28/04/08  ||  Kampfar

I hate myself but I want you to die.

If I get to orchestrate my own death, avoiding sudden illness or a fatal accident, etc., I will finish myself off in a secluded place, thus avoiding the morgue altogether. Still, a very good name for a(n) (extreme) band this, so good, in fact, The Metal Archives are listed with no less than 9 Morgue’s, all hailing from different countries, the one in question doing so from France.

Or rather, they spew bile from there.

“The process to define the shape of self loathing” is simply put one of the angriest records ever recorded. Spare from the rare breakdown and also the tecno ender, excellent at it, this is loud and savage all the way, urgent as fuck and at your throat 24/7, certainly ripping your ears, and neighbors, if you are fucked enough to endure more than 12 seconds of this madness played properly loud.

(Come to think of it, the ender is fucking nasty as well)

The guitar sounds, coupled with the pedal work and Mr. Bassist’s effort, like a distorted cement mixer, the blast are hit and not triggered into place, and, last but not least, the iota over the i, the vocal work. Damn, fucking hell, this is how angry I like my friends. I hate happy people.

Is this even music? Wouldn’t it be just as correct to label it anti-music? Sure would, if the opinion and ideas of conform people mattered, that is.

Negative.

It takes a pair of trained ears to make sense, or at least, get the most out of “TPTDTSOSL”. You needn’t be old, like me, but I firmly believe a couple of years “practice”, or your mother drinking while pregnant with you, is required to fully enjoy this dish. But, just because your eyes are too shitty to spot a star, doesn’t mean it has ceased to exist.

This is music just as much as a murderer remains human.

Be angry, not depressed.
